#Joy and Song 2022 New Song Recommendation

When I first saw the song title “Who Invented ENCORE”, I thought Ka Him would continue his series of playful, imaginative and light-hearted songs. However, after listening to and watching the MV for the first time (the MV was released before the radio and streaming platforms), my opinion of the song changed 180 degrees. It can be said that this is the most touching and tear-jerking song since Ka Him debuted.

Following "A Word from Time Travel" and "Do You Like Virgos?", Lam Ka Him once again invited Wyman Wong to write lyrics for his work, and Wyman once again handed over a very touching lyric. Jiaqian's past love songs tend to give people a more detached feeling, and are mostly narrated from a bystander's perspective, with more subtle emotions. But this time in "Who Invented the Encore", we can hear that he seems to be starting from the first person, feeling the weight of the lyrics from his own perspective, so his interpretation is more straightforward than before. Even in his most iconic transposition, one can hear that his voice has more emotion than before. I believe it has something to do with the fact that he personally feels the lyrics from a more personal perspective.

The reason why Jiaqian, who has always been relatively "aloof", adopted a more direct approach to interpret this song may be because the lyrics are so close to reality, and the content described can easily resonate with the public. Just like Wyman's previous song "Sing a Song for Those Who Are Absent" written by Feng Yunqian, this song can be regarded as a tribute to those who are "absent". Social events, the pandemic, and the wave of immigration in recent years have caused the distance between many people to grow further and further. Many things that we once thought would never happen have happened, and many people who we thought we would have many opportunities to meet have suddenly left, without even the chance to say goodbye. When this situation becomes the norm, all we can do is cherish every encounter, every relative and friend, and hope to prolong the time of each gathering, just like a concert that never stops. But no matter how many times we sing "Encore", all good things must come to an end, and we will eventually say goodbye and separate. Only by truly keeping the memories of getting along and the friendship established in your heart can you truly make a relationship and a feeling last forever.

Even if I leave my seat now, there will definitely be a future that will accompany me.
