Justin Lo has been away from the Hong Kong music scene for two years. Five years later, he released a new Cantonese album "Love Songs from Dreams", which includes 10 new music works to satisfy a group of long-awaited fans!

Justin Lo's new album is titled "Love Songs from Dreams". As the name suggests, the album is based on the word "love", and the inspiration for the works mostly comes from Justin Lo's dreams, or even the melodies he heard in his dreams. All the works have a sense of casualness. Justin Lo admitted: "Some of these melodies come from my dreams, because my brain does not stop working during my creative process. In my dreams and my subconscious, there are no limits to my creation."

These past few years have been a difficult time for many people, and the distance between people has become greater. Despite this, Justin Lo deeply feels the value of "love", "family" and "friendship", so he hopes to express his thoughts through music and share them with the audience. Justin Lo has always believed that he is not good at being a record producer. He has not released a new album for a long time because he was worried that his works would not have new breakthroughs. However, this time he was unexpectedly satisfied with the album "Love Songs from Dreams". He also kindly reminded music fans that they would have a better experience if they listened to the songs in chronological order. Justin Lo said: "Now I have just started my real musical journey. What is more precious is that I have realized that the result is not the most important. When I listen to this album again in 20 or 30 years, I will hear the memories and the process. I would like to thank Dough-Boy for co-producing it and all the musicians who participated. You have given life to this album."

In the new album, there are many slow-tempo love songs that Justin Lo is good at, including the previously released "First Second (feat. Ted Lo)", as well as other works "Last Dance (Justin Lo x Dough-Boy)", "The Word Love" and "Poor L Love Song". The representative work of friendship, "Old Buddies (feat. Eric Kwok)", was created by Justin Lo and his old friend Eric Kwok, describing the invisible tacit understanding and moments of getting along between brothers. As for the soul-healing works, such as "An Elephant Sitting Still (feat. Ted Lo)", "Hello" and "Joy in Sorrow", they can bring some new ideas to the listeners and inject new strength into their lives. There is also a song called "Adriana Lima (feat. Dough-Boy)" with an exotic arrangement, which is mysterious and a bit passionate.

Tracks:
The End (Intro)
It recorded the moment at 6 o'clock one morning when Justin Lo was recording the sound of dog barking on the balcony and was frightened by a loud noise. "Incomprehensible things happened in the calm sea. Is it the end of the world? How will we face it? All lives will never be the same after that." - Justin

Elephant Sitting Still (feat. Ted Lo)
Composition: Justin Lo Lyrics: Fang Jie Arrangement: Ted Lo Producer: Justin Lo The music is arranged by master musician Ted Lo, with piano as the main axis and rich chord arrangements, making the song more colorful and layered. The soft music style not only creates a comfortable atmosphere, but also highlights the characteristics of Justin Lo's voice, as if he is singing softly in the ears of the listeners. "After completing the other eight songs on the album, I accidentally found this song that I had written six years ago and decided to use it as the prelude. The lyrics written by Fang Jie this time can be said to be the "Top 3" since I worked with him. The idea is that if you stand far enough, you can see the whole elephant. It is a metaphor that as long as people reduce their egos, the world will have less disputes. The arrangement is done by Ted Lo. The piano has to be like the chorus with me, keeping it simple can make the soul of the song more prominent. - Justin

Hello Music: Justin Lo Lyrics: Justin Lo Arrangement: Justin Lo Producer: Justin Lo The music, lyrics, arrangement and supervision are all done by Justin Lo. The arrangement is brisk and backed by clapping. The lyrics keep showing "Hello" in different languages. Justin Lo's lively singing voice also adds a touch of liveliness to the song. "If you want to find the happiness I want, you must take the first step, which is to say hello to others. I often say that the most sincere smile on my face when I was young has been gone for a long time, so I spent two years to find it back, and also proved to myself that you don’t have to be depressed to write good songs. The song incorporates many elements of my idols. Thank you Sam, Freddie, Paul, Maroon 5, Anita and Mr. Big. Did you find their shadows in the song? I look forward to jamming this song with the live band!" - Justin

First Second (feat. Ted Lo)
Composer: Justin Lo Lyricist: Fang Jie / Justin Edited by: Ted Lo Producer: Justin Lo Different from Justin Lo's previous "Justin-style" lovelorn love songs, "The First Second" is a slow, sweet love song. Justin Lo performs the song with his signature gentle voice, revealing delicate and sincere emotions, full of sweetness. "This is my anniversary gift to my significant other. Initially, the lyrics were written in Mandarin because it is easier to sing. Later, I asked Fang Jie to write the lyrics in Cantonese for me. The inspiration for this song came from some videos I saw on my phone one day. It reminded me of the first moment I met my friends. How did we become friends? If we can think back to the first moments we met when fighting with friends or family, life would be much easier." - Justin

Last Dance (Justin Lo x Dough-Boy)
Composition: Dough-Boy / Justin Lo Lyrics: Dough-Boy / Lin Bao / Justin Lo Arrangement: Dough-Boy Producer: Dough-Boy / Justin Lo This slow R&B song has a sense of rhythm. The part played on the electronic piano is based on Justin Lo's favorite 90s R&B ballads. The audience first feels a faint sense of helplessness, and then the emotions are layered to sadness with the arrangement of the song. "When Dough-Boy first gave me the demo, I wasn't very interested. But when I tried to sing it, I realized it was an unpolished gem! The lyrics were originally in English, but Dough-Boy encouraged me to try adding Cantonese lyrics. So I spent a lot of time researching with Lin Bao, hoping to retain the original western style of the song, so that people can't tell whether I am singing an English song or a Cantonese song!" - Justin

Adriana Lima (feat. Dough-Boy)
Composer: Justin Lo Lyricist: Lam Po / Justin Lo Arranger: Dough-Boy Producer: Dough-Boy
The arrangement exudes a passionate Latin feel, with a distinct and strong rhythm. Justin Lo's casual and relaxed performance, accompanied by the harmony, makes the song full of mystery and romance, which touches the ears of the listeners. "When I was young, I had a crush on a supermodel, so I wanted to write my fantasy about her into this song. "Adriana Lima" is definitely a "level three" work! - Justin

A Song of Joy and Sorrow: Justin Lo/ Nic Tsui / Cousin Fung@MOYAO
Lyricist: Fang Jie Editor: Edward Chan@emp Producer: Edward Chan / Justin Lo / Cousin Fung@emp
The song is told from the clown's perspective, encouraging listeners to grit their teeth and face the challenges head-on even when faced with difficulties. The melodious melody lingers on, soothing people's hearts like a bowl of chicken soup for the soul. As the emotions gradually progress, it adds a warm power that is injected into the heart. "The music was recorded by Edward Chan in 2019, the lyrics were written by Fang Jie in 2020, and I recorded the vocals in the same year, but went back to record it again in 2021. It is a song that is so-called "quality is more important than time". Before the Joker became a demon, he was called Jack Napier. He was a good man who was often bullied. I believe that it takes time for people to become ugly. I have empathy, but there are two types of clowns, either funny or scary. We all have a "Jack Napier" inside us. - Justin

The Word "Love" Composer: Dough-Boy / Derek Chan Lyricist: Tommy Grooves Arranger: Dough-Boy Producer: Dough-Boy
The whole song is based on guitar, without too much embellishment. The lyrics are simple and direct. It is a love song that purely expresses love to your significant other. Justin Lo has a gentle voice, occasionally adding some breathy sounds when performing, which is very infectious and makes his love words deeply touch the hearts of the listeners. "The original version of this song is in English, and Dough-Boy suggested that I sing it in Cantonese, so I asked Tommy Grooves to write this simple and direct lyrics, it is a pure love song. I recorded this song many times, and then listened to it over and over again to memorize the melody and lyrics, in order to create an effect that makes the song sound like talking, enhance the appeal, and deeply penetrate the hearts of the audience." - Justin

Poor Love Song: Justin Lo Lyrics: Fang Jie Arranger: Justin Lo Producer: Justin Lo plays a brisk rhythm on the acoustic guitar. The lyrics are as down-to-earth as the song title, which is easy to resonate with. Justin Lo deliberately lengthened the ending notes of each sentence in the chorus when performing, revealing his helplessness towards real life and bringing to life the love feelings of a "poor" person. "I wrote this song in 15 minutes. The style of the song is closest to the 'real' me. I let Fang Jie write the lyrics freely. I think many brothers who feel they are not worthy of the goddess will feel the same way. - Justin

Old Buddy (feat. Eric Kwok)
Composer: Justin Lo / Eric Kwok Lyricist: Lam Po Editor: Ted Lo Producer: Eric Kwok / Justin Lo

Justin Lo and his "old buddy" Eric Kwok worked together to create this song, singing about their precious friendship, telling the invisible tacit understanding between friends that "we don't need to see each other often but we understand each other" and "I will support you in all difficulties". The style of the song is light-hearted and catchy. "This song is written by all St Paul's co-Ed alumni. I learned a lot from Eric in the process of making the song. It was like a master class. This is what I think of when I hear the song. I find that the older you get, the fewer friends you have. But even if the remaining "old friends" are busy and don't keep in touch often, when they meet, they will always talk about everything like before and be willing to support each other at any time. A true friendship is when two people meet once every few years, they feel like they have never been apart. As simple as that. Timeless. "- Justin
