Album Introduction
This is not an instruction manual, it is a guide.
A guide to 11 seemingly everyday anomalies.
These anomalies, however, truly reflect the daily lives of many people.

"Incomplete Self-Help Manual" is the second limited collaboration music project album released by producer Arai Jūichi after the release of "Imperfect Life Guide" in 2020. We invited 29 groups of musicians to work together to write 11 self-help journeys with different themes through music. The musicians who responded included long-lost Sandy Lam and surprise performance by Cyndi Wang, as well as many Golden Melody Awards regulars both on and off the stage, spanning the fields of singing, composition and production. Xu Jun, Jude, Su Yunying, and others who were nominated for multiple Golden Melody Awards in 2024 are among them. They co-create with unexpected musicians and write about the moments in life when they need to save themselves. Maybe these 11 songs cannot save your life, but at least you know that you are not the only one on this road of self-salvation.

The collector's edition double disc of "Incomplete Self-Help Manual" was designed by Sanjin designer Fang Xuzhong's "Jiufangshe", and he invited the well-known 3D designer Gong Yuan to collaborate with him to deconstruct various self-help themes, re-present them in the form of exhibits, and then collect them in the album. It's like a guidebook, taking you to explore the self-help stories behind each song.

Track Introduction
01. It is you who cured my loneliness
Sandy Lam and Zheng Nan collaborated on a single for the first time. As Sandy Lam said, "Rather than calling it a new song, it's more like a form of companionship." Their idea of "love" is to give and accompany without asking for anything in return, and that can heal the loneliness in one's heart. Just like a soft cloud, it can always provide soothing power.

02. Nothing
Chen Shanni, Zhang Yuhan Leezi A communication that transcends generations, regions, and even values. In an era where lying down has become a popular art, Chen Shanni can still find motivation for Leezi to move forward despite the powerlessness of lying down aimlessly. Even if you choose to lie down, you can still leave something for yourself.

03. Phone
Wang Xinling, Li Jiji and Kafe Hu, three music icons with different styles, look at the convenience and anxiety that technology brings to life from their own different perspectives. The world has become a little crazy, with too much fragmented information to digest, but since we can't defeat it, we might as well join it.

04. Fall
James Li Zhuxian was able to express his life story through the heavy metal rock of Von Citizen. The addition of Ivana Wong becomes the light that penetrates through it, giving the infinitely falling emotions a little light and upward power. After venting, we realize that the resilience of life may be far beyond our imagination.

05. FU
Xu Jun, Arai Juichi, and Ke Chang, three music partners broke their established cooperative relationship to form a band, transforming into "Three Dogs" to talk about the many anxiety-inducing things in life. Even after vomiting, I realized that those ant-sized troubles were actually problems of my own over-expansion.

06. Switch
Su Yunying joins Ice Paper's musical fable. To the rhythm of electronic synthesizer drums, the two began to reflect on their daily routine. If you can grasp the switch to change the status quo, even if the other side is full of unknowns, even if you will ultimately be unable to escape. Do you have the courage to make choices for yourself?

07. Ice
In the iconic musical progression of Constance's ball of change, Chen Qizhen filled in the beautiful and painful lyrics, coupled with Jude's groundbreaking singing style, it can be said that the three parties are perfectly linked. Facing the inevitable disappearance of "ice", too many songs teach people to let go, but being able to embrace beauty until the last second, even if it hurts, is never in vain.

08. Another Dream
HUSH, Guoguo and Martha share each other's passion and pursuits in work, music, travel and life. When you feel numb and your body and mind are rusty, this song is like another unfulfilled dream hidden deep in your heart, which keeps popping up and asking yourself, "How are you?" How would you answer?

09. Flash of Thought
Zhou Yunpeng wrote "Flash of Thought" on the theme of pain, but in the hands of Turing Music Laboratory, it was packaged as Western Baroque classical music. Teacher Zhou said, "Pain is the norm in life." Some pain can remain in that space and time over time. If you can find joy in suffering, one day spring will come and flowers will bloom.

10. This little fish cares
OK Wang and Pei-yu Hong, two of the warmest mezzo-sopranos of our time, tell the story of the internal friction of modern people who often feel bad about themselves in the form of self-dialogue in perfect harmony, designed by producer Chen Jianqi. As long as this little fish cares about what she cares about, nothing can trap her, no matter it is the sea or the fish tank.

11. Freedom at last
Huang Qishan and Qin Sifeng's "Xiaoxia" team met Yi independent musician JIHU. It starts with a very subtle beginning and builds to an exciting ending, telling the story of the communication problems faced in relationships. Ultimately, the answer to freedom lies in oneself. Because when we face others, we only see one side of them, but we can see ourselves completely.
