The famous French cellist Gautier Capuçon began learning cello at the age of 5. When he was a student, he studied at the Paris National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance under Philippe Muller and Annie Cochet-Zakine . He then went to Vienna to follow cellist Schiff. Now he is a world-renowned cellist and serves as a judge on the famous youth classical music competition program "Prodigy" on "France TV2". He is also the founder and leader of the " Classe d'Excellence de Violoncelle " project at the Louis Vuitton Foundation Art Center in Paris.
As a celebration and record of turning 40 this year, Gauthier Capuçon released this 3CD album " Souvenirs ". CD 1 is a brand new recording that has never been included before, including Bach's No. 1 unaccompanied cello, Gao Dayi's cello sonata, etc. CD 2 and CD 3 are a selection of representative and important recordings from Gauthier Capuçon's past albums. They can also be seen as Gauthier Capuçon's re-examination of his past musical achievements at the age of 40 .
