RAPHAELA GROMES - IMAGINATION (CD)

"Imagination" is the sixth studio album by German Opus Klassik Award-winning cellist Raphaela Gromes. Selecting works from different countries including Germany, France, Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland, Russia, the United States and Canada, she uses superb performance to build imagination beyond the visual and auditory, leading music fans into a romantic musical journey.

The album includes many classic works that have been re-arranged for this album, including Tchaikovsky's "Sleeping Beauty Waltz", Nikolai Korsakov's "The Flight of the Bumblebee", Felix Mendelssohn 's "A Midsummer Night's Dream: Scherzo", Antonín Dvořák's "Song to the Moon" and "Evening Prayer" from Humperdinck's play Hansel and Gretel. There are also popular movie soundtracks such as "Bag End" from "Lord of the Rings" and "Leia's Theme" from "Star Wars".

All in all, there are seventeen pieces on the disc, some of which are based on fairy tales from different countries. Each piece is full of poetry, imagination, and high artistic elements. In order to bring out the best in each piece, she sincerely invited a group of friends in the music industry to collaborate with her, including pianist Julian Riem, violinist Daniel Dodds, harpist Anaïs Gaudemard and Arcis Saxophone Quartet.
