Hymns is Goldfish's seventh studio album released in 2001, released on vinyl for the first time. Hailing from Birmingham, England, the birthplace of heavy metal pioneer Black Sabbath, Goldfish are sometimes referred to as the young Black Sabbath. This album represents the controversial band leader Justin Broadrick's return to the most basic British industrial heavy metal music - guitar, bass guitar and real drummer.
With the interactive cooperation between the lead singer and guitarist, the style of the songs varies greatly. While retaining their signature rough and pessimistic image, they continue their cold, mechanical and cynical music. It is definitely the band's best album, but unfortunately it is also their last album. Recommended songs include the emotional "Anthem", the profound "Defeated" and "Paralyzed".
In addition, special features songs that have never been released are included.
