"First Love" is the debut album released in 1993 by Japanese-American singer-songwriter and music producer Hikaru Utada. It topped the Oricon album chart in its first week and sold two million copies. Cumulative sales in Japan reached 7.65 million copies and remained on the charts for 85 weeks, becoming the best-selling album in Japanese history. It is also the best-selling music work in Asia, with total global sales of approximately 11 million copies. The unprecedented success of "First Love" made the sixteen-year-old Utada Hikaru known as the "Utada Hikaru myth" in the Japanese music scene. Chris Bellman of the famous American Burnie Grundman Mastering was responsible for the vinyl mastering and it was re-released on vinyl.
