Background: "Britney" is the third studio album by American pop singer Britney Spears. The album marked her transition from teen pop to a more mature musical style. In addition to pop and rhythm and blues (R&B), the album also adds new music genres such as hip hop, rock, disco and electronic dance music.

Britney personally participated in the preparation of the album and co-wrote six songs. The album topped the Billboard 200 album chart as soon as it was released, with sales of over 740,000 copies in the first week. It was also a hot seller worldwide, with total sales reaching 10 million copies. Britney was once again nominated for Best Pop Album at the 45th Grammy Awards for this album.
