Unlike previous works, "Boomerang" is an album without slow lyrical songs. Instead, it combines House, Synth Pop, Reggaeton and other styles with Sun Shengxi's unique R&B soul. It is full of electronic elements and cleverly plays with beats in the songs. Sun Shengxi admitted: "The song contains a lot of struggles. I originally thought the arrangement would be a little darker, but after completing the album, there are many rhythms." It's like the psychological process of sorting out contradictions is always chaotic but orderly. Following the different rhythms in the song, I reinterpret the boundaries of emotional dynamics.

The album visuals invited the new generation director Psychobaby Gill to serve as the visual consultant, who collaborated on the planning of the album's dynamic and static shooting with his deep understanding of popular elements and professional visual narrative background. The images for the album's inner pages were taken by fashion photographer Debbie Kuo. She excels at using clear light and shadow to highlight the faces of people. While adhering to pure portraiture, she captures the aura that is closest to Sun Shengxi's true self in every frame of the photo.

Finally, it was handed over to Yu Wei, a potential designer who won the Grammy Award for Best Packaging Design, to complete the binding design. The black outer cover encompasses everything like a black hole, while the back cover delicately reproduces the outline of the boomerang and retains the red elements throughout the MV. The inner pages are made of special paper and combined with images that contain foreshadowing, making the process of flipping through the album another exploration.

The music videos released subsequently are also an important part of the complete album concept. The 8 MVs bring together 5 directors: EthanYIJAN, Psychobaby Gill, Dr. Leonardo, Timothy, and Dawson Pon, who use their different perspectives to create dynamic images that fit the emotional essence of the songs. Each story is independent of each other, yet they complement each other, making "Boomerang" a visual and auditory cycle.

Song Introduction／

"Boomerang" tours the trajectory of life, being honest with yourself is the first step. First, reveal those parts of yourself that you can't express; be honest about your desires and worries; through continuous collisions, you gradually become clear about your bottom line that you cannot cross; and you also experience the world turning into grayscale darkness. Even though it takes a relatively long time, not a single minute is wasted. Every time you go back and forth, you are getting closer to your own heart and closer to others.

A1. INFP

It is not easy to be yourself, and to please yourself, you must work hard. The first MBTI single "INFP" is the first hit from Sun Shengxi's sixth creative album. Sun Shengxi, who belongs to the mediator type, introduces himself from a new perspective and also writes a dark confession that is difficult for the INFP personality to express. The acrostic in the lyrics is like a whisper, piecing together the feeling of powerlessness after surviving; the melody and arrangement of the whole song carry all the unpredictable emotional curves, and there are as many turbulences as there are variations, waiting to be soothed.

A2. Unwind

Desire gives you vitality, but the confidence in survival blinds you and makes you ignore the huge warning signs in front of you. "Unwind" is a joint creation of Sun Shengxi and KIRE. In the lyrics which mainly consist of English, two sentences in Korean are carefully embedded, which become the highlight. Through the interpretation of Sun Shengxi's highly narrative voice, it aptly outlines the intense pursuit of each other with extreme desire. The incessant restless sound of Synth pop is a sweet immersion, making the listeners lost in the rapid rhythm and feel that they are redefined in the pleasure of running, but ignoring the surge of adrenaline that disrupts your heart rhythm. Before the ending unfolds, who would know whether the consequence of leaving everything behind would be a chaotic dam collapse or an unrealistic utopia?

A3. jagi (feat. KIRE)

This love requires your courage. Can we regret it after we have "loved"? Sun Shengxi transformed into a goddess of love, and partnered with the fashionable and sexy musician KIRE to sing and dance a duet to create a romantic single, which triggered love waves for men and women pursuing love. "Jagi" is a fusion of Reggaeton, with a tropical and sexy rhythm of Latin America, dreamy and sweet strings, piano and synthesized sounds, and catchy lyrics, forming a song with a slight K-POP style. "Jagi" is Korean for "baby" and "dear", an affectionate name for couples. This is also the first time that Sun Shengxi has included Chinese, Korean and English lyrics in a work. It is a tacit work that combines the styles of the two and has a unique aesthetic.

A4. Bounce

In a life full of endless troubles, limited happiness is not excessive at all. Sun Shengxi once again joins hands with the fashionable and sexy musician KIRE to create "intuitive dance music", which can eliminate conflicts and definitely relieve heat, allowing you to put aside your brain and immerse yourself in your intuition. The lyrics in Chinese, Korean and English are intertwined, like three kinds of happy factors jumping and dancing to the rhythm. 〈Bounce〉 is a House-Pop song with Greek lyricism and Korean rap, which is like melting ice cream, cooling off and satisfying your cravings. You must seize the fleeting happiness! Groove it, now that's all we have!

A5. Try (feat. Alex Colours)

There is a way to love without asking whether it is worth it, because in the future, you may never love someone so madly again. At the invitation of Midem, the historic French Cannes record festival, Sun Shengxi joined an online creation camp that connects international musicians and collaborated with Alex Colours from France and Niclas Lundin from Sweden. "Try" perfectly combines the European electronic pop music's large-scale rhythmic leaps with Chinese music's delicate and ingenious description of emotions and moods. The rhythmic and magical hook "Try~Try~Try~" is arranged by Golden Melody Award producer Chen Junhao, and the layers of flavor are sublimated, striking a balance between the listening experience of Chinese and Western music. "Don't give up on the possibility of a good relationship too quickly. If it feels right, it's worth trying again and again." This is the core concept that Sun Shengxi wants to convey through this song.

B1. Adddicted (feat. Karencici)

It’s hard to find the antidote for love-induced infatuation, but luckily you have your best friend online to curse with you and support you with all her strength. To fulfill fans' wishes, Sun Shengxi teamed up with trendy female singer Karencici to write a song based on their late-night chat. They talked about their irresistible attraction and confessed their addiction in a very straightforward way, for fear of being heard by "him". "Adddicted" was created by Sun Shengxi and emerging producer Boiii P, with Karencici's attitude-filled lyrics and soulful singing. The two female voices created a healing dance song that is both authentic and energetic. The whole song has rich arrangement, a bit retro yet fashionable, with electric guitar, bass, and synthesizer each showing their unique skills on the track. It's like hearing the girl's bubbling inner drama, sweet and sour. Even though she knows it's poisonous, she just can't help herself.

B2. Judge Me

"You can judge me, but please don't leave me." The doubts from people close to us are always the saddest, but also the most unbearable. "Judge Me", written at the critical point of an argument, is a sentimental complaint and a fragile plea. The timbre of the EP and synth pad creates a sense of suspense, as if they are suspicious of each other's bad thoughts, and they never know when they will pop up and become bait to lure the other party away. "Don't let this relationship turn into a memory in an instant" expresses the deepest hope in my heart.

B3. TMT (feat. U:NUS Gao Youxiang )

"TMT" is the first collaboration between Sun Shengxi, U:NUS's Gao Youxiang and producer Boiii P. The song title is taken from the abbreviation of "Too Many Times", pointing out the dilemma of a relationship that has experienced too many twists and turns and has no way out. The main melody is paved with the clear and lingering electric guitar. It sounds lazy and sleepy at first, but if you savor the lyrics carefully, you will find that this is a cigarette that can only be smoked after digesting the pain. The airy feeling between the lyrics sung by Sun Shengxi and the indifferent voice of U:NUS's Gao Youxiang both prove that the passion of passing is nothing but ashes. Who would have thought that the traces left by the overflowing emotions were the precursors to the endless pain at this moment, stabbing back into the heart.

B4. Bullet

Finally, I can put down my forced smile and no longer have to try so hard to hold back the urge to fall. "Bullet" was written by rap genius Zhang Wu and Sun Shengxi. Every word and sentence expresses extreme loneliness and desolation. Against the heavy rhythm, Sun Shengxi sang calmly and indifferently. Although the power of his voice remained undiminished, his mood was low and depressed. The feeling of nothingness at the lowest point is unbearable. Its enormity forces us to let go of our previous attachments and obsessions. Complete escape is the only comfort. If you have tried your best to live but are now in tatters, you will no longer feel pain or regret.

B5. Lucid Dream

It is said that only when love leaves can we piece together how we were in love again and again, and confess our true desire for love. "Lucid Dream" is a sincere monologue by Sun Shengxi, with different strengths of voice interpretation and silent cry in the heart, rippling between reality and dreams. "Lucid Dream" was co-created with producer Lai Weizhe and lyricist Yang Tong. It shuttles between the dreams of oneself and others, waiting for the echoes that return after venting the secrets. The outro echoes the prelude, which is a contradiction that keeps repeating. The verse and the chorus are a debate between inner rationality and madness. I try to accept every change at every moment, because in a flash, I may overthrow myself again, stop manipulating the plot in the dream, and live as my true self.
